About Me

Hi there. I’m Denise. I am Creative. I love bold colors. I love animals. I love nature and most definitely the beach. Most of all, I love God and His word. I love to study the Bible and share what I’ve learned. I find inspiration in capturing moments through photography, art and writing.

I started gathering my thoughts and creative journalings for my children and grandkiddos (maybe one day collecting them in a book.) Sharing my wrestlings with God and epiphanies from Him is a passion of mine. My desire is to awaken us to the unseen battle we face, point to God’s presence in the tiniest of places, illustrate His handiwork in all situations, reveal the beauty in our brokenness and unwrap the miracles He brings from our ashes. Check out Repeated Echoes to read more.

A quick snapshot of me can be seen in my self-portrait . . .
Daughter of the King who follows the One True Lighthouse. Wife of a wonderful husband, Bill, who is the other half of my heart. God is the key that keeps us locked together. Doves carrying life and love to others. Mother of 4 amazing children: Janesa, Kayla, Wyland, & Cherise as illustrated in the daisies (the petals represent their ages at the time of the painting.) Since then, I’m Gigi to three beautiful grandbabies: Cristiano, Kendra and Wyland Jr.

I am a fearfully and wonderfully created work of art, a masterpiece, a child of God who is made in His image. I am no longer a slave to sin. I am fearless. I am chosen and dearly loved by Him. I am marked, sealed and guaranteed an eternal inheritance. I’m redeemed, my ransom was paid and I’m abundantly free from the bondage that imprisoned me. I am forgiven, justified and made righteous forever in Christ. I am His beloved adopted daughter, an ambassador, who is designed to embrace the lost, lonely, unloved and wounded.

A Few Favorite Scriptures

ZEPHANIAH 3:17

“The Lord your God is with you,the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

JEREMIAH 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

ISAIAH 49:1-3

“Before I was born the Lord called me; from my mother’s womb he has spoken my name. He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver. He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.”

ISAIAH 61:1-3

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty  instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

JOEL 2:25-27

“ ‘I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm—my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you;
never again will my people be shamed. Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed.

LEVETICUS 19:34

When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

PSALM 51

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressionS  Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.  Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.  Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness. Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise. You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise. May it please you to prosper Zion, to build up the walls of Jerusalem. Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous, in burnt offerings offered whole; then bulls will be offered on your altar.
